My name is Lilach Lotan and I'm the founder of Pack on Track. 

There are two factors that have driven me in life and my career. One is the love of my beautiful family, and the other is passion for working with people. I take particular pleasure in hearing stories about people’s life experiences, adventures and thriving in spite of overwhelming odds. 

For over a decade I have worked in Long Term Care, both as a nurse and a manager. Time and time again I witnessed the effects of stressful relocation on seniors in my care. Sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, disorientation, confusion, hopelessness and social withdrawal.  

Moving is a major life transition. So many unknowns! Will my furniture fit? What should I do with everything I can't take?  Then the stressful confusion of getting things put away and that hopeless pile of wires that had something to do with the T.V. ...or maybe the phone. So distressing for anyone, let alone for a senior!

I also witnessed many successful transitions when new residents settled relatively quickly into their new environment, ready to participate in their new community. "Life belongs to the living, and he who lives must be prepared for changes" said Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The best way to prevent relocation trauma, in my observation, is to prepare and involve the person in decision making process. When the individual maintains independence and control, understands how the move will evolve and is able to maintain familiar routines and comforts of home - distress is minimized and eases with time. I’ve also noticed that an experienced, neutral third party can greatly reduce the potential of family stress and conflict.

I move people – not boxes. My focus is on providing a personal and compassionate experience in what can often be a difficult and emotional life transition.
